Krat · Lies of P
Lies of Pdle
Boss, weapon or Legion Arm: guess today's enigma. Every guess tears out a fragment of truth.
How to play
How to play the Weapon mode
The Weapon mode, nicknamed Weapondle, shows the inventory icon of one of the 51 weapons of Lies of P and asks for its name. The list covers the base game and the Overture DLC. There is no grid here and no written clue: you have the picture, your memory, and every wrong answer crosses out one more weapon.
How a round works
The icon of the day sits in a frame above the input field. Type a few letters of a weapon's name: up to eight suggestions appear, case and accents don't matter, and the English name works as well as the name in your language. Pick one with the arrow keys and Enter, or click it. Weapons you have already tried leave the list, and there is no limit on the number of guesses.
The suggestions have no thumbnails, on purpose. With pictures, you could solve the puzzle by matching images instead of remembering the weapon. Each guess appears below the field with its own icon, marked right or wrong.
Reading the icon
That list of wrong answers is your best clue. Put each failed icon next to the mystery one and compare what differs: the shape and length of the blade, the handle, the guard, the color of the metal. Most weapons in Lies of P combine a blade and a handle, and the icon shows the whole weapon, so look at both ends. It also helps to think in families first (daggers, swords, axes, hammers, spears) and only then in names.
What the weapon card shows
Once you find the weapon, its card shows four values taken from the game files, version 1.12.0.0:
| Value | What it means |
|---|---|
| Scaling | The stat the handle scales with best: Motivity, Technique or Advance, or Balanced when two are tied |
| Element | Elemental damage built into the blade: Fire, Electric, Acid or None |
| ATK | Base physical attack of the blade |
| Weight | Weight of the blade and the handle together |
The ATK record belongs to Live Puppet’s Axe, at 174. Weights run from 5.9 for Tyrant Murderer’s Dagger to 31.1 for Frozen Feast. Only 2 weapons deal Fire damage, 2 Electric and 2 Acid, and a name proves nothing: the Fire Axe, for instance, has no element in the game files.
How today's weapon is chosen
The server picks the weapon of the day from the date and a secret key. It changes at midnight UTC for every player, and nothing on the page gives it away: the image reaches your browser without the weapon's name in its address, and each guess is checked on the server. Each day is drawn on its own, so a weapon can come back after a short while.
Your guesses are saved in your browser until the next reset. The Practice button above the icon draws a random weapon whenever you want, and those rounds stay out of your statistics. The Share button copies the weapon's name with your result, so keep it for friends who have already played.
For the details of each weapon, read the weapons guide or open the weapons codex.
Frequently asked questions
- Why don't the suggestions show icons?
- Because you could then find the answer by matching pictures instead of remembering the weapon. A weapon's icon appears in your list only after you have tried it.
- Are the Overture weapons included?
- Yes, the list covers the base game and the DLC, 51 weapons in total.
- Is there a hint after a wrong guess?
- No, the Weapon mode only says right or wrong. Your clues come from comparing the icons of your wrong guesses with the mystery icon.
- When does a new weapon appear?
- Every day at midnight UTC, at the same time as the other four puzzles.
- Where do the ATK and weight values come from?
- From the game's data files, version 1.12.0.0, not from a wiki. ATK is the base physical attack of the blade, and the weight adds up the blade and the handle.
