About Liesofpdle

A daily guessing game about Lies of P, made by one fan from the game's own data and published in twelve languages.

What Liesofpdle is

Liesofpdle is a free daily guessing game about Lies of P, the soulslike developed by Round8 Studio and published by NEOWIZ. Every day it sets five puzzles: the boss of the day, a weapon to recognize from its in-game icon, a Legion Arm, an amulet, and a line of dialogue whose speaker you have to name. The five games are available in twelve languages, from English and French to Japanese, Korean, Russian and both written forms of Chinese. Nothing requires an account, and nothing is behind a paywall.

Each mode calls on a different kind of memory. The Boss and Legion Arm grids reward knowing the numbers behind each fight or prosthetic: a weakness, a chapter, a pool of hit points, an attack value. The Weapon and Amulet modes test your eye for icons you scrolled past many times in your inventory. The Quote mode asks whether you remember who spoke in Krat, and how they spoke.

Why it exists

I built Liesofpdle because I love Lies of P and the short daily puzzles that spread after Wordle. A game like this gives a reason to return to Krat for a few minutes a day after the credits have rolled, to test what you remember of a world you spent dozens of hours in, and to compare results with friends who played it too.

Most daily games are built around a single question. Lies of P has enough material for several: a long list of bosses with very different profiles, a weapon system where blades and handles can be reassembled, the Legion Arms, a large set of amulets, and a cast of characters with recognizable voices. Five modes felt like the right number to cover it without diluting any of them.

Where the data comes from

A deduction game is only fair if its data is right: one wrong cell and a whole round becomes impossible to solve logically. So the data comes from the game files themselves rather than from memory or third-party lists.

  • Version: everything was extracted from the files of version 1.12.0.0, including the Overture DLC.
  • Names: the names of bosses, weapons, Legion Arms, amulets and characters in the twelve languages come from the game's own localization, so the site uses the same words as your copy of the game.
  • Statistics: hit points, weaknesses, attack values, weights and sell prices are read from the game's data tables, not estimated.
  • Boss regions: the region shown for each boss is the official name of the place where the fight happens, as it is written in the game.
  • Quotes: a line is attributed to a character only when two independent sources in the files agree: the dialogue file it comes from, and the speaker field filled in by the developers. Lines that fail this check are left out, even when the speaker seems obvious.

A few groupings are editorial choices that make the puzzles playable: the type and mechanic of a Legion Arm, or the family of an amulet, are categories I defined from the item's effect. The codex lists every value, so you can check any of them.

How the daily puzzle works

Every day at 00:00 UTC, each of the five modes gets a new answer, the same for every player in every language. The answer is picked on the server from the date and a secret value, and your daily guesses are checked by the server too. The page you load never contains the answer, so it cannot be dug out of the source code. The full explanation is in how the daily puzzle is chosen.

Editorial principles

  • Accuracy first. When a value cannot be verified in the files, it does not go on the site.
  • Spoilers stay out of the guides. The guides explain mechanics and the early-game setting, not the turns of the story. The puzzles and the codex, by nature, name late-game bosses and Overture content.
  • Corrections are welcome. If you spot a mistake, the contact page explains what to send so it can be checked quickly.

How the site is funded

Liesofpdle is free. It shows ads from Google AdSense, which help cover hosting and the domain name. Audience measurement uses Umami, a self-hosted tool that sets no cookie and only produces anonymous, aggregated statistics: page views, country, device type, and two game events, a won puzzle and a click on Share. There is no account, and your progress and statistics stay in your browser. The privacy policy gives the details.

Independence

Liesofpdle is an unofficial fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to NEOWIZ or Round8 Studio. Lies of P, its characters, names, images and lines belong to their respective owners and are used here as a tribute to the game. If you hold rights to any of this content and want it removed, write through the contact page: such requests are handled before anything else.
