Lies of Pdle

Boss, weapon or Legion Arm: guess today's enigma. Every guess tears out a fragment of truth.

How to play

How to play the Legion Arm mode

The Legion Arm mode, nicknamed Legiondle, hides one of the 10 Legion Arms of Lies of P, the interchangeable prosthetic arms that P fits on the left side. 2 of them were added by the Overture DLC. It plays like the Boss mode, with a grid of clues, but the list is short: the challenge is to read every cell, not to eliminate dozens of names.

How a round works

Start typing in the field, which is already selected when the page opens. Suggestions come with a picture, case and accents don't matter, and the English name works as well as the name in your language. Pick one with the arrow keys and Enter, or click it. Each guess adds a row at the top of the grid, and an arm you have already tried leaves the list.

Green means the same value as the hidden arm, gray a different one. On ATK, a gold cell with ↑ means the hidden arm has more attack than your guess, and ↓ means it has less. Type and Mechanic are categories defined for the site, while Element, Scaling and ATK come from the game files, version 1.12.0.0.

A worked example

Say you open with Aegis: a Defensive arm with a Shield mechanic, no element, Balanced scaling, 100 ATK, from the base game. The row comes back with Type, Mechanic and Element in gray, Scaling and DLC in green, and ATK in gold with ↑. So the answer is an Offensive or Utility arm from the base game, with an element, Balanced scaling and more than 100 ATK. Only three base-game arms have an element, and only one of them has Balanced scaling: Fulminis, found on the second guess.

The best first guesses

Four arms tie for the best opening: Aegis, Falcon Eyes, Icarus, and Left Arm of Steel. Each leaves 1.2 candidates on average and never more than 2, so a careful game never needs more than three guesses. With these openers, the only pair you can't tell apart after one row is Flamberge and Pandemonium, two Throw arms with Advance scaling and a low ATK. The weakest opening is Puppet String, at 2.0 candidates on average. The best first guess guide gives the full ranking.

How today's arm is chosen

The server picks the arm of the day from the date and a secret key, and checks every guess itself, so the answer never reaches your browser. It changes at midnight UTC, at the same moment for everyone. With only 10 arms and each day drawn on its own, the same arm can come back within a few days, sometimes two days in a row.

Your guesses are saved in your browser until the reset. The Practice button above the field draws random arms that don't count in your statistics, and the Share button copies the arm's name with your grid, so share it with people who have already played.

The Legion Arms guide and the codex describe each arm in more detail.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best first guess in the Legion Arm mode?
Four arms tie: Aegis, Falcon Eyes, Icarus, and Left Arm of Steel. Each leaves 1.2 candidates on average and never more than 2.
Why are there only 10 Legion Arms?
That is the whole list in version 1.12.0.0 of the game, including the 2 arms added by Overture. A short list makes every cell count.
Who decided the Type and Mechanic of each arm?
They are categories defined for the site, based on how each arm is used in a fight. Element, Scaling and ATK are read from the game files.
What does Balanced mean in the Scaling column?
That no single stat dominates: the arm's best scaling grades are tied between several stats.
Can the same arm come back two days in a row?
Yes. Each day is drawn independently from the 10 arms, so repeats happen more often here than in the other modes.
